Pics for last post

In the evenings the internet slows way down ... must be the number of local users.
Here are some pictures I tried to include with the last post.

Notice the remote next to the textbooks.
They have music playing on the TV donated by people in Belgium, where Rita and Christian are from.
They have mostly Christian music but some secular slips in ... normal boys!

We had some special visitors.
2 of these beauties are at the Ark full time,
1 niece of one of the aunties,
and a daughter of the couple who run the Reoboth CarePoint (Edith)
and oversee all CarePoints in the country (Kelvyn).

Anyone who has been here will recognize these smiles. Heidi grew up at the Ark and is studying business administration at the university.
Andy has pictures of her all the way back to 2004.
Ursula is one of the dedicated aunties and does most of the cooking
(1 hot meal per day at about 1pm). Ursula is raising her own children and her sisters, who passed away about a year ago. Lovely people!

We snapped this pic at a modern mall in the capitol of Windhoek.
This is the traditional dress of one of the tribes here in Namibia.

This is in Okajandja very close to where Cam and Hailey should be.
We saw lots of these home businesses around there.
Hailey can probably get a pedicure while Cam gets his hair cut and a shave.

Did I mention some teen girls in the post?
They are very sweet, just don't make them mad (-:

One of the 2 very nice restaurants in town, Bird Mansion. We took the kids there because the lodge would not let us bring in our own food, but didn't have enough food for us when we needed dinner. It was pouring rain and we were starving. So....pizza and milkshakes for everyone. It cost $1200.00 Namibian. We get about 9.5 Namibian to our 1 dollar, so we round it to 10:1. With a tip, it was about $120.00. Sobering to think that is more than a months pay for some people who work full time in the area.
The kids were perfect although the big boys like to torment the little ones with threats of telling the aunties they were bad.

Can YOU imagine growing up with about 8 big brothers ???!!!
